Initiated by the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) in Cologne, the CEAS Aeronautical Journal provides a forum for outstanding research in the fields of aeroacoustics, aeroelasticity, air transport systems, air traffic management, flight mechanics, flight physics and aerodynamics, propulsion, structures and materials.
The editor-in-chief is Andreas Dillmann, professor of physics at the University of Göttingen, Germany.
The Council of European Aerospace Societies was founded in 1992 to facilitate cooperation between national aeronautical societies. Today it serves as an umbrella organization of eleven associations with 35,000 members.
